Credit Check Wizard.com is all about how to use free or low-cost resources to get out of debt – and improve your credit score. We think in a modern society that credit is necessary, that some debt is inevitable, that less debt is generally best for most people and that the cost of debt is not set in stone: With good planning the cost of debt can be reduced, credit ratings can be improved and the end result is more spending power and increased personal freedom.

You can think of “debt” as money owed to somebody else or as an obligation of some sort as in “we’re in his debt for helping us fix the car.”

But debt and credit is not only words, it’s also two important concepts of the way we live. Being in debt means owing money, but it also means having less freedom to move, have a different job, do less, or do something different. Credit can mean other things – more options, time to solve basic problems related to financing you way of living

We at Credit Check Wizard equate debt with less personal freedom and believe that less debt is generally better than more debt — but not always. In the process of reducing debt finding better credit products can be one debt reducing tactic. Debt to finance a trip is generally seen as “bad” debt (because the benefit is short term) while debt to finance a house is typically seen as acceptable (because we have to live somewhere and ownership allows us to hold an asset which may grow in value and reduce our taxes).

If we do not repay our debts then bad things happen: Late fees are assessed, goods are re-possessed, creditors can take us to court, cars and houses can be lost and we can wind up in bankruptcy court.
